Madoka Suganuma

Born in Tokyo and having grown up in many countries including Pakistan, Belgium, Austria, Wales, Scotland, Switzerland, Russia and Singapore, Madoka developed a keen interest in bridging cultures. Having seen first hand how cultural differences can manifest in different behaviours, she was motivated to deeply understand her own culture, which led her to become a qualitative researcher with a strength in being able to explain the cultural context behind consumer behaviour. While working as a freelance qualitative researcher, she came across commercial Semiotics, which deeply intrigued her. After working on a slew of Semiotics projects for several years, she decided to take a step to solidify her knowledge by taking a course with Chris Arning of Creative Semiotics. She hopes to spread the practcie of commercial Semiotics in Japan.
